About DJ.Drew
Iowa City DJ is an independent company, owned and operated solely by Drew Bielinski (DJ Drew).
Drew began his DJ career during his high school sophomore year back in 1995. He came up with the idea to play music during his school's sporting events, which was something that hadn't been done before. After talking with the athletic director, he was given the opportunity to play music during that weekend's football game. He was told to play music before the game, at half-time, and after the game as fans were leaving. After the game, the football coach came up to Drew to let him know that he loved the music, and that it added a new energy to the games. From that moment on, Drew had the job as the DJ for every sporting event at the school, which eventually led to DJing the dances, pep rallies, and school ceremonies.
Using only a portable discman and a single L/R cable, Drew quickly gained experience and learned all the tricks of DJing. He eventually started saving money for more professional equipment and over time he built a complete, professional audio set-up along with a fully-functional intelligent lighting system.
Drew has earned a reputation as a qualified, reliable DJ, and has received much praise from friends and family. He has also earned a position as a weekly DJ at a business in Iowa City. Patrons return each week to Drew's show and the venue is usually filled to capacity by the end of the night.
